On May 8, 2004, I and 7 others went on a SaddleSore 1000 organized by Norm Kern of the dayton Motorcycle Club. Five were other DMC members, and two were from the Columbus, Ohio, area HSTA.
SInce I had to ride to Dayton late Friday and rest with family for the attempt, I was late to the 4:00 am start due to the time needed to load my bike in the dark of a parking lot. I missed the others and started off alone on my 1962 BMW R69s with the stock (OUCH!) bench seat. I did cover the seat with a $10.00 sport cushion from Wal-Mart and an o-l-d sheepskin.

Now one of the older bikes to do a SaddleSore
